Hatay Water Supply Project– Detailed Design Project

The project zone lies inside Hatay. Areas that will be covered within this project are located 15km to Antakya and are bounded with Samandağı on the Mediterranean shore in the west, center of Antakya in the east, Amanos mountains in the north, and river Asi in the south. Greater Karaçay Dam construction has begun with the Greater Karaçay Project to satisfy the long term water needs of Hatay.

Water will be delivered from the regulator located at the water inlet at the downstream of the dam to the transmission line. At the end of the transmission line, 1.67 m3/s of water will be transferred to the treatment plant with a branch.

Also projects for transmission lines to Antakya centrum and Samandağ centrum and all the necessary structures (engineering structures, pump stations, water storage tanks, etc.) for 15 other settlements on the transmission line route are prepared. Population estimates and future water demands are assessed in order to allocate necessary drinking water. All villages and districts have also been taken into consideration while determining the population and water supply demand. A transmission main from the dam till the city has been planned, and a drinking water treatment plant, has been planned. Detailed design of the water transmission main, with a length of 110km., has been designed.
